Latvian Blue Cow

In Latvian they have what are known as BLUE cows. For some reason the shade of these cows are blue"ish". Some say they eat too many blueberries, other say they are spray painted by the locals for tourist, and others wonder if they give blue milk.

Polish Dog

On our drive back to Latvia from Austria we found a dog along the road in Poland that had been recently hit by a car. We stopped to see what we could do for the dog. We thought it would die soon from injuries so Rhonda held her waiting for her to die. When she did not die we decided to pick her up and travel with her until she died. We drove through Poland, Lithuania, and finally drove into Riga. The dog was still alive. We took her to our Vet. and found that she had no major injuries and would walk normally in a few weeks. So we had a another dog. She is walking now and seems to be just fine. One of the people working at the school has agreed to take her off our hands.

Auschwitz, Poland

"Work will set you free" is the slogan at the entrance to the Auschwitz Concentration Camp in Poland. When we were driving back to Latvia we went to Auschwitz. I also have pictures of the ovens used to burn the gassed bodies and no mans land. That was the area surrounding the camp and if a prisoner stepped foot there they were shot.

Vienna, Austria

We ended our bike trip in Vienna. It was 400 kilometers long or 250 miles. It really was a great trip. Next summer we are planning to bike the Rhine River,

Shopping

Even in Vienna they know about Rhonda.

Wine Country

Towards the end of our bike ride we traveled through Austria's wine country. They have planted grapes everywhere. You can see that even the sides of the mountains have grapes growing.
